Its primary function is to ensnare particulates such as dust, dirt, and sand, thereby preventing them from entering the engine. An important feature of this oil is its tackiness, which is slight yet significant enough to ensure the oil remains in place throughout the filter’s useful life.
Moreover, the product is waterproof, which is crucial for blocking out moisture and water, elements that could potentially damage the filter or reduce its effectiveness. A concern with some filter oils is the potential for clogging, especially in colder climates where the viscosity can change, but Lucas Foam Filter Oil is formulated to avoid clogging, ensuring that air flow is not hindered even when temperatures drop.
For ease of use and to ensure thorough application, the oil is tinted with a blue dye. This helps users confirm that the oil has been evenly distributed across the entire filter, eliminating guesswork and promoting optimal performance.
DIRECTIONS OF USE
- Apply a moderate amount of filter oil onto a new or fully clean dry filter
- Work product throughout entire filter
- Lightly squeeze out excess oil
- Allow filter to cure for 10 minutes before installation
- For extra protection, apply a small bear of Lucas Red “N” Tacky grease to filter sealing surface
